Dark Comedic Musical With A Viral Response
LUIGI: THE MUSICAL
New Dates Added and SOLD OUT for “Luigi: The Musical” After Sold-Out SF Run
“Truly excellent satire… nearly too hot to touch.” - The Independent
“Terrible.” – San Francisco Chronicle
San Francisco, CA – Luigi: The Musical, the dark comedic musical which has evoked a resounding, viral response since its announcement, has added new dates in San Francisco at The Independent. Inspired by the true fact that Luigi Mangione, Diddy and Sam Bankman-Fried, three high-profile public figures were held simultaneously at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, the show is set in a prison cell shared by the disgraced crypto mogul, infamous media executive, and the viral Italian sensation and accused assassin, guarded by one confused Sergeant.
Imagining the events of the short time that all 3 were in the same prison at the same time, Luigi uses absurdist humor and original music to explore corporate greed, public spectacle, and the creation of viral folk heroes in the internet age. Said head writer Nova Bradford, “the show really shines a light on the cultural obsession with downfall and redemption as well as whether or not hashbrowns are the finest food known to man.”
The show has quickly drawn mixed attention from news outlets both excited, inspired, confused, and outraged by what they might imagine the show to be, but now the press can come experience the show for themselves.
Shows are selling out before press releases can be written and serviced, but Team Luigi is offering press comps when available.

About The Cast and Crew:
Jonny Stein
Jonny Stein is a comic and actor based in Oakland, CA. Before Oakland, he lived in Chicago where some credits include Cats (Mungojerrie), West Side Story (Baby John) and Newsies (Spot Conlon) at the Paramount Theater, Cabaret and October Sky at the Marriott Theater, and Carousel at the Lyric Opera. Redundantly, he was also in Newsies (Spot Conlon) at the Marriott Theater. He also appeared in A Chorus Line at the Secret Theatre in New York City where he was nominated for best supporting actor for some award show he honestly doesn't remember. As a comedian, Jonny has performed at Punchline SF, Broadway Comedy Club in NYC, and the Ice House in Los Angeles. He was a finalist at the US Comedy Contest 2020, a year that surely comes with asterisk, and appeared at the SF Sketchfest 2025. He is the kind of person that did a cappella in college, if that helps to understand him better.
André Margatini
Andre Margatini is a Bay Area born and raised author, writer, and performer and producer. They have been featured on shows such as the Mental Health Comedy Hour, Comedy Q Second Sunday Showcase, and Safewords Comedy Showcase. They host a monthly queer comedy open mic at Thee Parkside. With many years of improvising under their belt, Luigi: The Musical is their first scripted stage performance.
Janeé Lucas
Janeé Lucas is a multifaceted artist with a wide range of talents. As a stand-up comedian, actress, singer, writer, and native San Franciscan, she has honed her craft since the age of eight, performing in musical theater with the New Conservatory Theater. Janeé has taken the stage at the NY Comedy Festival, Cobb's, and Tommy T's comedy clubs. In addition to her professional pursuits, she is a devoted mother to two sons.
Caleb Zeringue
Caleb is a stand-up comic, writer, and producer, thrilled to be making his scripted play debut. He’s lived in 16 states but mostly grew up in the South, where he was too scared to share his dreams of performing. Now he’s making up for lost time, joining the comedy scene as a finalist in the NYC Queer Comedy Festival, a featured comic in LGBTLol Fest, and performing at venues like The Stand, Gotham Comedy Club, and ColdTowne Theater.
Caleb recently discovered that Type B personalities exist, which—let’s be honest—is a very Type A thing to do. He’s working on that.
Nova Bradford
Nova is a performing artist, director, producer, and lyricist known for staging guerrilla theater productions in San Francisco and performing standup comedy under the mononymous stage name NOVA. She's always writing about something, usually at the intersection of culture, technology, and health. Regardless of the medium, Nova uses narrative as a tool to ignite imagination and spark dialogue.
