Irene Tu Was Named Vulture’s “Comedians You Should and Will Know in 2019.”
“She is confident onstage and offstage. Her caring demeanor belies a dark side that I can relate to” - W. Kamau Bell
“She excels at pleasant—almost parental—condescension and the confident undercut”
- Portland Mercury
Los Angeles-based comedian Irene Tu is set to release her debut album on March 25 via Blonde Medicine, available where comedy is streamed and sold. We’re Done Now is a hilarious 15-track collection of stories about coming out and dating, observations about food, dictators, and diva cups, as well as morbid musings about surviving the apocalypse.
Irene Tu is a Los Angeles-based stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. After moving to Berkeley from Chicago, Irene quickly established herself in the Bay Area comedy scene. Since then, the San Francisco Chronicle singled her out as an “artist on the brink of fame,” on the heels of being named one of the “Bay Area’s 11 Best Stand Up Comedians” (SFist) and one of 20 “Women to Watch” (KQED).
She has performed at numerous festivals including SF Sketchfest, Comedy Central’s Clusterfest, and Bridgetown Comedy Festival. Named one of Vulture's "Comedians You Should and Will Know in 2019,” Irene has opened for comedians such as Patton Oswalt, W. Kamau Bell, Maria Bamford, Gary Gulman, Judah Friedlander, Brian Posehn, Ronny Chieng and Cameron Esposito. You can see her comedy on Comedy Central, LOGO, Starz, and VICELAND.
