About Judah Friedlander:

If you think you know Judah Friedlander because you saw him on 30 Rock, then you do not know Judah Friedlander. His on stage persona of The World Champion has many layers and a lot of depth. With it, he satirizes the narcissistic, gluttonous, self-congratulatory nature of the United States - while simultaneously being an activist hero for all the people, plants, animals and atmosphere of the earth. His act is filled with non-stop one liners, elaborate joke, satire, and unique crowd work. Stand-up comedy has been Judah's main thing since he first started in 1989. His on stage persona of The World Champion has taken on different shades over the years. It was initially a satire on narcissism. Then the persona grew into that of a real life superhero, who is actually humble, subliminally getting audiences to question why as a society we have a need to want heroes. For the past several years, Judah's act predominantly satirizes American exceptionalism as well as U.S. domestic & foreign policy with hilarious & profound bits on racism, sexism, climate change, and health care. The World Champion is a champion of the world - a human who stands up for the rights of earth and everything in and on it including humans, other animals, and plants. If America does the right thing, Judah will one day be the president of the United States. As an actor, Judah has been in over 30 films. In 2004, Judah completely transformed himself and was nominated for Best Support Actor at the Independent Spirit Awards for his role as the genuine nerd Toby Radloff. Judah was a series regular for all 7 seasons on the multiple emmy award-winning “30 Rock” for which Judah won a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Cast in a Comedy Series in 2009. As an author, Judah has released two books: the satirical instructional karate book “How To Beat Up Anybody” (2010), and “If the Raindrops United” (2015) a book of drawings & cartoons - many of which are political and address serious issues of racism, gentrification, mass incarceration, climate change, classism, and the corporatization of NYC & America.
