Comedian, podcaster and actor Kurt Braunohler is poised to release Perfectly Stupid, his hour-long comedy special that delivers all the delightfully absurd and hilarious joke-writing that a Braunohler set always promises. The special will premiere on Moment October 27th (pre-sale live October 7), after which it will be available on demand and as a comedy album, and then as of December 16, on YouTube. 

 

This special is his most personal to date. Packed with a ton of jokes and just as much heart, it’s a fast-moving freight train of comedy that finds Kurt focusing on parenthood, mortality, and the self discovery gleaned when you drive away with the gas-pump attached to your car. Perfectly Stupid is about Braunohler striving to be a good dad and a good man. He says:

 

“It’s about how my own father gave me a very confusing blueprint for fatherhood, and how my mom, who raised me, passed away right before I could ask her all the questions. Which makes it sound heavy. But it’s not. There’s also some dick jokes.”

 

The special also features an actual Artificially Intelligent Stand Up JOKEATRON which was built by a data scientist team. They tell jokes together, which is very dumb, and very funny. 

 

Kurt Braunohler has been doing comedy for 24 years, starting at the Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC in 1998, where he improvised for 7 years which garnered him a prestigious invite to the HBO Comedy Arts Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He started doing stand up relatively late in life at the age of 29, when he and co-host Kristen Schaal struck up the still-running variety show, Hot Tub With Kurt and Kristen. Perfectly Stupid is his second full-length comedy special. 

 

Kurt Braunohler is a comedian, actor, and writer who once hired a skywriter to write "HOW DO I LAND?" in the sky over LA. In features, Kurt can be seen in Judd Apatow’s feature The Big Sick and Lionsgate's Long Shot as well as the horror sensation Barbarian. On TV: The Good Place, Bob's Burgers, Murderville, Black Monday, Lady Dynamite, American Housewife, and many more. In stand up, Kurt’s previous one hour stand-up special, Trust Me premiered on Comedy Central in 2017 and he regularly appears on late-night sets on Conan, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Seth Meyers, and The Late Late Show with James Corden. He has been featured in Variety’s annual prestigious '10 Comics To Watch' list and is the co-creator and co-host of the continuously sold-out variety show Hot Tub for 17 years with Kristen Schaal. His wildly popular strange news podcast BANANAS is available wherever you get podcasts. And lastly, he once jet-skiied from Chicago to New Orleans for charity.
