WHO & WHAT: Page One Productions, Nick Job (Yellowstone, Mank) and Delio Eswar (The Dresden Sun) present an All-South Asian lineup of comedians to highlight the comedy in the upcoming feature, GOD OF LAUGHTER, a coming-of-age film about a young South Asian comic. With Hari Kandobolu (The Problem with Apu, Netflix’s Warn Your Relatives) headlining as well as several comics responsible for writing the stand-up that will be seen in the feature film, Page One Productions hopes to raise awareness of the project and find like-minded partners and collaborators who are attending the festival. 

 

Doors will open at 8 PM and guests will be greeted with a complimentary cocktail by High West Distillery and small bites will be served. 

 

There will be time after the show for mingling and networking and the media is welcome to request interviews with the producers and comics.

 

Seating is limited and first come, first served, and tickets are by donation.

GOD OF LAUGHTER Logline: When an up-and-coming Indian comic’s career is threatened by his inability to discuss his cultural identity on stage, he seeks the guidance of a ruthless veteran funnyman to learn how to be his unfiltered self in his act.


 

BIOS:
 

Hari Kondabolu is an American stand-up comic. His comedy covers subjects such as race, inequity, and Indian stereotypes. His comedy special, Warn Your Relatives, was released on Netflix in 2018. He was a writer for Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell and the creator of the documentary film The Problem with Apu. 

 

Delio Eswar is a recovering investment banker and venture capitalist turned producer, writer and actor. He began his career at Goldman Sachs in New York before jumping into venture capital at Betawave Investments. His career as an actor started off with a bang with a role opposite Christina Ricci in The Dresden Sun. He most recently produced Steal, Kill and Destroy, an ARRI-sponsored short film directed by A24-mentored Darron Savage.

 

Nick Job is a producer, director, actor and story consultant. He has consulted on projects at Netflix and his clients work with Universal, DC/ Vertigo, Monkeypaw Productions and more. As an actor, he played John Gilbert in David Fincher’s Academy Award winning film Mank; he’s also worked with Spike Lee, JJ Abrams and was most recently on Season 5 of Yellowstone. As a producer/director his films have won several awards and screened at the Manhattan Film Festival, the Long Island International Film Expo and more.
