Hosted by the illustrious writer, performer and producer, TRISH NELSON with special guests:

Under a summer sky, lit by the full moon, join producer and performer, Trish Nelson in a vow: "I am here tonight to pledge my support to my fellow sisters.”  And then the storytelling begins! Nelson, who has put together live shows and tours across the country for Key & Peele, Broad City, Amy Schumer, and many others, brings her West Coast sensation, The Secret Society of the Sisterhood to Brooklyn. The theme of the evening is: “So...That Happened.” Prepare yourself for true tales that are sincerely heartfelt and often hilarious!

Commencing on the full moon of every month in the glow of candlelight, The Sisterhood invites some of the most prolific, iconic and diverse women of our generation to come together in front of our intimate Secret Society audience members, and share personal stories surrounding the topic of the evening. The theme for May 29th is "So.... THAT Happened!”.

Proceeds from all shows are donated to various female-centric charitable organizations. The May 29th, 2018 meeting's proceeds will go to Girls Write Now.

About Girls Write Now:

Girls Write Now mentors underserved high school girls from throughout New York City’s five boroughs — over 90% high need and 95% girls of color — who must rise above the race and income-based inequalities of the city’s public school system and the nation’s workforce. Through one-to-one mentoring with professional women writers and media makers, writing and technology workshops, and leadership, college prep, and professional development opportunities, we inspire women to share their craft and empower girls to find their voices and tell their stories.
