Each week, comedians Caitlin Brodnick and Sue Smith do a deep dive into their favorite scams, new and old, from the Fyre Festival to LuLaRoe and 19th-century swindler Gregor MacGregor, who sold an imaginary island to hopeful settlers. They also invite a guest to share their own experiences with scams, who often share harrowing tales of becoming unwitting victims of shrewd, evil scammers. This week, Sue and Caitlin are joined in the studio by comedian and Lady Parts Justice League activist, Abby Holland, who reveals a traumatizing scam that happened to her over the phone. It’s so fresh and raw that she hasn’t even told her own mother about it yet. (Sorry, Abby’s mom!) After receiving a mysterious phone call possibly concerning her parents’ safety, Abby embarks on an epic journey that involves the IRS, a Mexican drug cartel, graphic designers, and one extremely helpful Apple store guy. Pro tip: there are undercover cops at the Apple store!

More about More Banana
Based in Brooklyn, More Banana was founded in early 2018 as a response to a gap in the podcasting world. This gap was twofold: a noticeable lack of women working in audio and podcast production, and a need for women to not doubt their opinions, interests, and expertise, even in a media that does not highlight them as experts. More Banana was created to close that gap and elevate the views of women; not just because it is a woman’s perspective, but because it’s a damn good perspective.
