Hampton Yount

Hampton was born in Virginia, started comedy in DC, aged four years, and now lives in Los Angeles. Hampton is the voice of Crow T. Robot, and writer on the new episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 on Netflix, and was recently a writer on Adult Swim’s THE ERIC ANDRE SHOW and producer on MTV’s RIDICULOUSNESS.

 

Hampton has appeared on CONAN (TBS), LAST COMIC STANDING (NBC), RIDICULOUSNESS and
ACTING OUT (MTV), THE MELTDOWN WITH JONAH AND KUMAIL, @MIDNIGHT, and ADAM
DEVINE’S HOUSE PARTY (Comedy Central), and had his first stand up special with his 2015 Comedy Central Presents: THE HALF HOUR. Hampton has previously appeared on the G4 Network, Adult Swim, and has reached millions of listeners on the Bob and Tom Radio Show, the Nerdist Podcast, XM Comedy Radio. He's written for THE MELTDOWN (Comedy Central), UPLOAD WITH SHAQUILLE O'NEAL (TruTV), FANTASY FACTORY (MTV), LOITER SQUAD (Adult Swim), and NERD DOWN & 10 (Nerdist Network).

 

Hampton’s career launched after he won the DC Improv Comedy Competition in 2008. Since then he’s been a mainstay at comedy clubs and festivals that including the Just For Laughs Montreal Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, South By Southwest, SF Sketchfest, The DC Comedy Festival and the Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival, the ID10T Music Festival and Comic Conival and was a semi-finalist at the Laughing Skull Festival. He was named one of Esquire’s best new standup comedians and one of Comedy Central’s Comics To Watch at the NY Comedy Festival in 2012.

 

Hampton’s latest album “Bearable” a followup to his album “Unbearable”, is available from
ASpecialThing Records, and through all digital retailers and streaming services. Hampton has a new album, recorded with Rooftop Comedy, coming in 2018.

 

Hampton co-hosts the “Suicide Buddies” podcast, along with co-host Dave Ross on Starburns Audio, covering famous suicides throughout history and their own fascinations with one of most taboo subjects.

 

Hampton also made a webcomic with his brother Clay Yount: www.robandelliot.com. It has an awesome fanbase and has been a critics' favorite.
